A drake King Eider at Blue Hill Falls afforded great views while it fed with a large group of Common Eiders this morning. I stopped by at 0815 after seeing a report from yesterday on eBird.
-- While watching the eiders, I received a report of a Stilt Sandpiper that had been seen in nearby Penobscot. I was able to located that bird at 0845 in the cove that Clark Moseley mentions, by the side of Route 175 and just east of the intersection with Route 199. My photos of both birds will be posted when I have a chance.
Good birding,
