[Maine-birds] N. Pintails and 2 Great Blues, Weskeag Marsh in Thomaston

Hi all -- as a follow up to Don Reimer's post from Weskeag, coincidentally I got a 10 minute stop-off on the parking pad with bins and a scope today at mid morning.

In a mixed flock of Mallards and Am. Blacks, I found 4 hen Northern Pintails. Combined with yesterday's Northern Shoveler in a nondescript mixed flock in Rockport, these NOPIs reinforced for me the value of scanning groups of common birds.

Also, 2 Great Blue Herons flew into the marsh while I was there, and 3 G-w Teal were in a mid-distance panne.

Cheers,
Craig K
