I finally got a free day to look for the solitaire at Florida Lake yesterday. It was the first bird that I saw after turning left just beyond the end of the wooden bridge. Birders must have made friends with it because it flew right up to me at eye-level before turning to land in one of the winterberry shrubs at the lake edge. Steve Mierzykowski joined me, and we enjoyed good views of the bird. A Northern Shrike also flew by after Steve left. Watch out slender little solitaire!
Some of my behavioral notes and description of the bird are in my eBird list here:
Clicking on the photos there will take you to my Flickr page for larger images. This bird clearly has taken a lichen to the place, as you will see.
Good Birding!
