[Maine-birds] American Avocet at Addison Boat Landing

We birded Addison ponds this morning as well as Addison boat landing.  We met Wendy Sawyer at the landing who told us she had seen an American Avocet at low tide on the muddy bank of the Pleasant River.  Just after we chatted with them the bird flew in and promptly tucked its head into its shoulder and went to sleep!  It was on the muddy bank directly across from the boat landing in Addison.

Yesterday at the Addison salt ponds near the bridge we saw two Dunlin.  The usual pesky Merlin spooked everything not long after we arrived.  There were also 51 Blue-winged Teal in the ponds.
