I did this last fall, on 10/12 the last day of the season and what was thought to be the last day of the Nova Star. We did a round trip from Portland, getting the birds on the way back (Yarmouth to Portland). We had several in our group and split up birding from both sides. It was too windy to bird from the bow (the boat travels at 30 knots+). There are inside areas with large windows from which one can also see a lot. We saw the following species: Gannet, Great Shearwater, Sooty Shearwater, Red Phalarope, Red-necked Phalarope, Pomarine Jaeger, Parasitic Jaeger, Alcid sp., Herring Gull, Great Black-backed Gull, Peregrine Falcon, Surf Scoter, White-winged Scoter, Common Loon, Red-throated Loon, Northern Fulmar, Great Skua, Red-breasted Merganser, DC Cormorant. We also had a little exhausted Song Sparrow hitch a ride. I have lists on eBird.
