Despite calm wind and 75 degree temp. at the point this morning, a 2.5 hour
stint (6 to 8:30 AM) produced the following migration count:
81 Northern Gannet (18 sub-adult)
111 Double-crested Cormorant
8 Common Loon
4 Surf Scoter
25 Common Eider
3 Laughing Gull
2 Ring-billed Gull
Other noteworthy sightings:
An adult Lesser Black-backed Gull landed on the rocks at the point and stayed for 11 minutes.
4 Great Cormorant (all adult) landed on the water in front of the point and proceeded to ride the water around the bend and out of sight.
"Local" gulls (loafing on rocks) included; 155 Herring Gull, 21 Great Black-backed Gull
