[Maine-birds] Weskeag and Thomaston

A definite uptick in shorebird activity at Weskeag's front roadside pools this morning: in addition to the expected species,  s-b dowitcher, pectoral, solitary, stilt. A juvenile little blue heron feeding among snowies - also a good comparison of their diverse feeding styles. A hormonally-charged great egret flew between several pools carrying a 2 foot stick in his bill. Juvenile Virginia rail.  Two juv. Western Sandpipers with 300+ semi-pals at the overlook at Lyman-Morse Boatyard Thomaston Harbor at 7 am.
