Hey Bill,
Looks like you got a Common Loon there. It's making the transition to the winter plumage where most loons end up looking pretty similar color-wise, but that bill is nice and thick and lacks the upturned look most Red-throats have, plus Red-throats have a really significant amount of white on their throat and sides of their face (malar/auriculars).If you do end up running into any rarities down there and see a young guy with binoculars, make sure to point them out!
