Hi everyone,
-- I spent a couple hours this morning walking on County Rd, which borders Sunkhaze Meadows NWR in Milford. It was very finchy with several large groups of siskins and goldfinches noisily feeding in the area - I estimated around 120 and 65 respectively. I also had 3 Red Crossbills flyover, calling, but my favorite sighting of the morning was seeing 23 White-winged Crossbills, who briefly but generously interrupted their flight to land in a nearby tree for mediocre-to-poor pictures.
I've yet to see any redpolls since their initial push in the fall, but there's plenty of time for that to change of course.
Good birding!
