[Maine-birds] Gull, warbler, shorebird

While running errands in Rockland this afternoon, I stopped to check briefly on a couple of nearby birds. The adult black-headed gull was rocking on the incoming seas in front of the marina dock between the Pearl Restaurant and the commercial docks to the east. The BHGU seems to have settled in Rockland and is seen on most days. He is found at this specific harbor location 90% of the time when he is town. Another gull, a leg-banded Montreal-based ring-billed (F2Z), is spending his third winter near the Rockland McDonalds. We have now become acquainted as he recognizes my vehicle and drops down expectantly to the pavement. On Samoset Road the lingering chat was nestled inside his thicketed hideout. In Tenants Harbor, Kirk Gentalen reports an American woodcock there yesterday. Strange year...
