I joined Project Feederwatch this year for the first time in ages and put out new feeders (niger, black oil sunflower, and suet) to mark the occasion. Have the evening grosbeaks shown up here? Nope, not yet.
But this morning word has spread about the new feeders and I have two tufted titmice, two white br. nuthatches, 4 chickadees, a goldfinch (where are the rest? and where are the pine siskens?), a chipping sparrow in the driveway, and two bluejays. Not bad for having hung the feeders only three days ago. On Saturday I had only 3 chickadees all day.
