While birding Hills Beach Rd, I came across a/the WESTERN KINGBIRD about 1/2 mile down past Buffleheads restaurant at about 3:15 pm. It was along the stretch of Hills Beach rd that has no houses on the pool side of the road, last seen just before Sky Harbor Rd. I observed it or about 5 minutes, during which it flew from the beach side to the pool side and back a few times, but was keeping a low profile, never perching up on the powerlines or flying higher than the height of the houses nearby. Several times it perched in low bushes on the beach or edge of the pool out of sight from the road.
I lost it when it flew behind a house, and wasn't able to refind it.
Other birds of note were plenty of White-winged Crossbills and a Black-legged Kittiwake in the Saco river channel, hanging out with the other gulls at low tide.
