[Maine-birds] Popham Beach - evening, Aug 20

An immature Peregrine Falcon amused itself this evening by making two strafing runs across the beach and over gathering flocks of loafing birds. It first scattered the growing bunch of Great Black-Backed Gulls, then (half hour later) was seen way out over the Gulf of Maine, chasing sizable flocks of peeps.

We noticed many small bunches of peeps and BBPlovers roosting on the offshore rocks as it got dark.
