[Maine-birds] Re: Ruby-throated Hummingbird

The more we look at this picture the more we think it is more than likely a female?

We have had a Ruby-throated Hummingbird in Whitneyville for the last two days, Oct. 13-14.  An immature male we believe, it looks like it may have some dark feathers on the gorget. We have been keeping nectar out just in case of a straggler like this..hope it gets going South soon though!
