Here are my observations of note over the past seven days:
- Fox Sparrows continue to be relatively widespread, with singles continuing this week in our Pownal Yard and here at the store among other places.
- 8 Snow Buntings, Pennellville Road, Brunswick, 11/24 (with Saturday Morning Birdwalk group).
- Reid State Park, Georgetown, 11/26 (with Jeannette):
2 Lapland Longspurs
5 American Pipits
2 "Ipswich" Savannah Sparrows
1 hen Northern Pintail
36 Snow Buntings
47 Horned Larks
1 Swamp Sparrow
133 Red-necked Grebes
- 1 1st-winter Glaucous Gull and 1 adult Iceland Gull (both first of season), Bath Landfill, 11/26 (with Jeannette).
- 12 EVENING GROSBEAKS, here at the store, 11/27 (observed by Marc Smith).
- 1 Hermit Thrush, Eastern Promenade, Portland, 11/29.
- 9 EVENING GROSBEAKS, Deering Oaks Park, Portland, 11/30.
- 10 EVENING GROSBEAKS, Feeders here at the store, 11/30.
Oh yeah, and some interesting raptor in Portland...
