[Maine-birds] Western Maine: Northern Shrike & Saw-whet Owl

Yesterday along Rt. !3 in Baldwin I saw a NORTHERN SHRIKE swoop from a power line in pursuit of a Chickadee.   I didn't see how it ended but it appeared that the Shrike had the upper hand.   Additionally, on the night of the 16th there was a SAW-WHET OWL calling from the vicinity of the cemetery near Hancock Ave. in Hiram.   It could be heard gradually moving off as the calls faded to silence.
