Weather:
Sunny and warm on the summit to start the day with clouds increasing through the day. Winds began light out of the southwest, quickly turning south, eventually ending southeast. Wind speed picked up a bit in the afternoon, becoming quite gusty at times.
Raptor Observations:
Slow start to the day, although some migration activity was observed before the storm arrived. The bulk of activity was around mid-day.
Non-raptor Observations:
43 species were observed from the summit today. Individuals deemed migrating included: 1 Great Blue Heron 4 Yellow-rumped Warblers 3 Barn Swallows 7 Tree Swallows 9 Cedar Waxwings 5 Common Loons 10 Double-crested Cormorant
Predictions:
Plenty of sunshine tomorrow but windy. Moderate to strong northwest winds, carrying heavy gusts through the afternoon. If the winds aren't too strong, we could see some birds moving through the area.
