Visitors:
18 people visited the hawk watch.
Weather:
Plenty of sunshine on the summit of Bradbury Mountain. Slightly stronger winds in the morning than anticipated, subsiding by mid-afternoon. Winds started out of the west, shifting northwest through the afternoon before ending west again.
Raptor Observations:
Decent migration activity, although many birds were observed at distance. Broad-winged hawks are still the most common migrant traveling on the wind.
Non-raptor Observations:
42 species were observed from the summit. Individuals deemed migrating included: 6 Chimney Swifts 2 Cliff Swallows 12 Barn Swallows 33 Tree Swallows 12 Cedar Waxwings 1 swallow sp.
Predictions:
Hard to believe tomorrow is the last day of this season's spring raptor count. The weather is looking like it could go either way. We could see precipitation at any point of the day but the most likely chance are in the late afternoon into the evening. Winds are expected to be light out of the east throughout the duration of the count. Depending on the arrival and intensity of the precipitation, we may see a few birds moving.
