On May 12, my wife and I saw three yellowlegs on the shore near the salt pond at Hancock Point (not far from the mouth of the Skillings River). Two of them were definitely greater yellowlegs. But the third was a lesser yellowlegs: conspicuously smaller, with a bill that was straight rather than ever so slightly upcurved. To see both species together was a treat, because it's often hard (for me, at least) to make these distinctions when I observe one without the other, which is almost always the case.
