There has been a mockingbird around here singing away the last two
weeks. First one I have ever seen in Central Maine. I guess another
example of climate change.
One breeding pair of Barn Swallows had their first hatch of 4 leave the
nest. It is fun to watch the 6 barn swallow jet around in pure joy. My
farm is down from 16 breeding pairs to 2 Barn Swallows.
Two Killdeer on a grass lawn across the road. It was nice to see. They
have become rare around here.
