[Maine-birds] Lesser Black-Backed Gulls (York)

What a gorgeous sunrise over the Nubble from Long Sands Beach this morning.

Also in the cards for today were three Lesser Black-Backed Gulls mixed in with a large (100-ish) Greater Black-Backed & Herring Gulls.  They were located in the Lobster Cove area (just north of Libby's Campground and across from the "Lobster Cove" restaurant).

Clearly smaller than the GBBG's and with bright yellow legs and a very yellow bill as well, the LBBG's really stand out when you scan the flock.

There were a handful of pipers and plovers were mixed in as well.

Happy exploring and learning, friends.
