Same here on MDI. We had our usual summer with hummers and then the two week August frenzy where whatever is the favored feeder, 2 cup container, will be empty in a day. We had about a week lull, but back to the frenzy level for the last 4 days.   

 It is nice though to be awakened at sunrise by hummingbirds in a feeding frenzy at your bedroom window

I see some people are reporting fewer hummingbirds this year, but here in Sullivan we've seen many more than usual all season. And they are either staying later, or more are passing through from the north. Most years we get a last minute frenzy about the third or fourth week of August, then they disappear. This year they are still around in great numbers, mostly female. As I write, there are aerial dog-fights taking place all over the yard, at feeders and flowers. Any other such observations?
