Re: [Maine-birds] ebird question

As I understand it, those decisions are based on location and date controlled by the local reviewer. This would extend to the number of birds reported as well. Basically, it is an automated method of flagging certain sightings for review. That is why the list is all the reports, not just the confirmed sightings. I assume that there are multiple reviewers across the state so that there would be different thresholds in different regions. Perhaps others with direct knowledge will weigh in.
