[Maine-birds] hermit thrushes in Rockport

This morning two just under my window gleaning bugs from the low plantings. The past couple of years I have noticed more hermits in the open, almost robin-esque in foraging on the lawn and around plantings, not in the woods. Yesterday one was eating small crabapples as well. A reminder that a garden/yard is an ecosystem. Both birds at this close range ( I was only 4-6 feet from them inside) very tremulous, legs twitching, bodies almost shivering. A method to be at the ready to fly away?
