[Maine-birds] winter finch

This morning I finally saw an Evening Grosbeak here in Unity.  Even better though were a pair of White-winged Crossbill and at least one Common Redpoll.  I don't know what the prognosis is, but I would bet that we will have good numbers of finch this winter.  The crossbills were feeding on hemlock.

Good birding,
tom
