Many of those shot wearing hunter orange are self inflicted through unsafe gun handling or by a companion for the same reason, often when loading guns before the hunt or unloading guns at the end of the hunt.  A hunter orange hat would be prudent

If anyone feels compelled to wear white anything in the woods, during deer hunting season,  they might as well go the Full Monty and strap a pair of antlers to their heads.
