Re: [Maine-birds] E-bird Gadget

Hi all,

I've had my web programmer on this for a few days, but the BirdTrax Gadget is now up and running on our website:
http://www.freeportwildbirdsupply.com/. Scroll down to the bottom of the page.

The default setting is "Rarities," but with this great little tool, you can view eBird sightings by checklist or by species - just click on the tabs at the top of the screen.  Of course, this only keeps track of rarities and other birds entered into eBird, so it's not yet time to unsubscribe from the listserve!  Also note that the Rarities listing only goes back so far, so you'll want to check back regularly.

Unfortunately, BirdTrax does not run on Internet Explorer (an increasing trend in the web world), so the sightings will not load when opening the page with this browser.  Google Chrome, Firefox, etc are all free and easy to download and BirdTrax works just fine on them.

Hope this helps, Chuck - and others!  And feel free to ask any questions or offer any suggestions on how to make this work for everyone.

-Derek

I am not sure how many of you, like me, used the e-bird widget/gadget for the i-google homepage.  It was a great way to keep track of rare bird sightings in Maine and would provide links to a map to show you the location of the sighting.  Now that Google has shut down i-google, how do you access the data from that widget?

Is there an app available for google chrome?
