Headed to West Quoddy Head SP today for the third attempt at the elusive (to me) purple sandpipers. I got skunked on the sandpipers again but was rewarded by a great look at a pair of harlequin ducks in the water just offshore of the lighthouse. Also, FOY eastern phoebes, two or three of them working the lighthouse and adjacent building.
If anyone can advise the best time in the tide cycle to look for the purple sandpipers, I'd appreciate it.
