Comments: Driving down Rt 3 in Salsbury Cove when I looked out on Hamilton Pond and see three large bodied birds.... quickly stopped to find 2 2nd year and 1 1st year bird picking at something in the thawing ice. Ice is beginning to break apart with some openings. Colder today....

Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) 3 two 2nd year and one 1st year on the ice eating something.

Comments: Madison C, Madeleine G and myself took a day off to spend some time along the eastern shore of Mount Desert Island. Thick-billed Murre was the treat along with several other birds. 20 plus MPH Southeasterly wind making it an on-shore breeze and choppy.

Bufflehead (Bucephala albeola) 2
Red-breasted Merganser (Mergus serrator) 5
Common Loon (Gavia immer) 7
Ring-billed Gull (Larus delawarensis) 2
Herring Gull (Larus argentatus) 32

Thick-billed Murre (Uria lomvia) 1 seen easily for a while than the bird move farther out towards Old Soaker
Black Guillemot (Cepphus grylle) 9
American Crow (Corvus brachyrhynchos) 1
