It was a quiet week on the pond--bluejays so wet they looked black--
the highlight was a white-crowned sparrow on Tuesday, there were also occasional flickers working the lawn, the crow pair descending quickly on a few meat scraps, loons calling at night, and tonight, the return of the woodcock after a long silence----
