Made an attempt to find yesterday's reported Yellow-billed Loon on Green Lake, Hancock Co., without success. Checked from spots along Scotts Neck Rd., Green Lake Rd., and Nicolin Rd. 5-9:30am. Met up with three other birders along the way, a couple of whom who had been out on the water, but no sightings by the time I left.
For anyone trying to bird the lake from shore, there is a narrow area along Scotts Neck that has decent views towards Northeast Cove from one side of the road and eastern parts of the lake from the other side. The boat ramp at the end of Nicolin Rd. also has views of a good portion of the lake. Best of luck.
