[Maine-birds] Additional Highlights This Week,, 11/3-9

Hi all,

My observations of note over the past seven days included the following:

- 1 continuing Rusty Blackbird, 6 Black-bellied Plovers, 16 American Pipits, etc, Wolfe's Neck Farm, Freeport, 11/3 (with Saturday Morning Birdwalk group).

- 1 continuing adult SNOW GOOSE (present daily since 10/9 when reported by local resident), 4 White-rumped Sandpipers, 17 Black-bellied Plovers, 40 Dunlin, etc, Pennellville Road, Brunswick, 11/3 (with Saturday Morning Birdwalk group).

- 2 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS and 1 RED CROSSBILL, Chandler Brook Preserve, North Yarmouth, 11/5 (with Jeannette).

- 1 ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER, 1 NASHVILLE WARBLER, and 1 PINE WARBLER, Kettle Cove, Cape Elizabeth, 11/6 (with Jeannette).

- 1 ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER, Crescent Beach State Park, Cape Elizabeth, 11/6 (with Jeannette).

- 1 VESPER SPARROW, 1 Eastern Phoebe, 1 "Western" Palm Warbler, and 1 Gray Catbird, private property in Cape Elizabeth, 11/6 (with Jeannette).

- Sabattus Pond, Sabattus, 11/7:

937 Ruddy Ducks
153 mixed scaup (just a little too far and active to sort through effectively today, and it's certainly possible that the 1-2 continuing Redheads could have been tucked among them).
123 Mallards
87 Common Mergansers
72 Ring-necked Ducks
61 Hooded Mergansers
42 American Black Ducks
33 Lesser Scaup
29 Greater Scaup
18 Buffleheads
13 Common Goldeneyes
8 WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS
1 Green-winged Teal
1 Pectoral Sandpiper
1 Double-crested Cormorant

- 1 Red Crossbill, Hedgehog Mountain Park, Freeport, 11/8.
