Visitors:
We had 22 visitors today which seem like a lot considering how empty the park felt. It was great finally meeting hawkwatcher Ted from Maryland. I really appreciate your help today, and I'm sorry there wasn't more to see. It was fun spotting with you. Hopefully there's a change by the end of the week. Biz it was nice to meet your relatives and young birder in the making.

Weather:
The ocean looked a little grumpy today. The waves were crashing pretty hard against the rocks surrounding Halfway Rock Lighthouse. Winds were blowing in mostly from the E until the final hour when there was a shift to SSE. It was a back and forth day of strong winds and also times of still air. Just as you were feeling overdressed a strong wind would come through for a minute or two and cool things back down. Overall a very pleasant day though. Clouds were high and thin and stayed mostly to our south. The line of demarcation slowly shifted further and further away as time progressed, leaving clear blue skies for most of the afternoon.

Raptor Observations:
If it had wings and it moved, I counted it. Just kidding. It was another day of quiet skies and yes there are a couple birds on the board I was a little skeptical of but they were moving in a migratory fashion. Later in the day after an hour or so of seeing nothing, I thought the flood gates had opened and we might be in for a big flight when I spotted two birds, that's right, two flying together in the making of a kettle. However no other birds joined in.

Non-raptor Observations:
There was a um, it was like a uh, ya know it sounded kinda, it, eh never mind.

Predictions:
Oof. It looks like Jeannette and Derek could be dealing with similar condition as today. More NE and E winds to contend with but the temps should be a little higher, maybe 60 or so. There could be more strong gusts in the afternoon trying steal the clipboard once more before the season is up. Given the time of year and their expert ID skills, I bet we have some FOY's for the day. No pressure. Good luck, we're all counting on you.
