[Maine-birds] Monhegan Island 10/7 - LE CONTE'S SPARROW, Eurasian Wigeon, WEKI

Hey everyone:

Seems like a lot of birds are turning over. Still lots of tired migrants around the island and a few new rarities today:

Le Conte's Sparrow - found early by Lysle Brinker in Lobster Cove and put on a good show for everyone throughout the day: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dhitchcox/8064725325/

Eurasian Wigeon - a drake was in the meadow with a Blue-winged Teal at the end of the day: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dhitchcox/8064727918/

Western Kingbird - at least the third this fall for Monhegan; sporadically seen around Wharf Hill Road

House Sparrow - seriously a rare bird on the island. Frequenting feeders behind Shining Sails

Good birding,
