Hello birders,
Found the Hudsonian Godwit and the Black Skimmer this morning between
10 and 10:30 at Pine Point behind (to the right of) the
Fisherman's/Lobster Co-Op as reported previously. Also had
Semipalmated Sandpiper, Semipalmated Plover, Black-bellied Plover,
Killdeer, Dunlin, and Greater Yellowlegs in the same area. The godwit
(and others) were flushed by a Cooper's Hawk; the other birds stuck
around but the godwit had not returned by the time we left around
11:30.
Scarborough Marsh birds of note: Bald Eagle, Lincoln's Sparrow,
Savannah Sparrow, Great Egret, and Great Blue Heron. Had a very
yellow-headed Savannah Sparrow that I tried to make into something
more exotic, but it was just a Savannah.
near Lobster Shack at Two Lights, birds of note: Great Cormorant;
Northern Gannet; passing flocks of White-winged, Black, and Surf
Scoters.
blurry photos attached!
