Semi Sandpiper (2)
At least one other possible species I did not get to try to identify. A large flock had landed right in front of me, maybe 60' away. I was getting the scope on a potential WR/Baird's, when a Peregrine Falcon blew by just over my left shoulder--possibly using me as a screen, as I have read they sometimes do--with a clearly audible "whoosh." Of course this scared all the shorebirds out of sight. This was a very cool thing to see, though I wish the falcon could have held off a couple of minutes. It was a juvenile (brown), apparently still learning to hunt, as it missed its target. It then circled the area for a couple of minutes as though it thought the shorebirds might return.
Also, 2 juvenile Sanderling yesterday, though nothing else out of the ordinary.
