[Maine-birds] Belfast Bay census

On Friday, Nov. 8, Gary Gulezian and I censused the Belfast Bay area as part of the quasi- bi-weekly winter census program that I do.  Highlights were a male Barrow's Goldeneye and a female Greater Scaup (the first scaup to appear on the census and the first I have seen on Belfast Bay). 
 
We also watched a group of 58 American Crows feeding on a gravel/sandbar that had been exposed in Belfast Harbor at low tide.  I have seen this behavior by a large flock of crows twice before in the same spot.  Any suggestions about what they are eating?
