[Maine-birds] Barred Owl in Pembroke

I was running at dusk tonight and heard a barred owl calling nearby in the Sid Barht property on Garnet Head Rd in Pembroke. It called a number of times and then came quite close to the road and called again quite a few times. Five minutes later in the same area a woodcock repeatedly gave its nasal "peeant" call . It was quite inspiring with the wind in the spruce and just when I thought it was over the woodcock decided to end the experience with one display flight.

Good Birding,

Woody Gillies
