Many thanks to friend, birder and exceptional amateur photographer JEANNE PARK for sharing the following series of shots of a Mallard that will surprise many, if not for it choice of it's snack, then certainly for the size of its appetite. 

If you consider what a juicy steak would look like to you, after weeks of nothing but salad (bleck!), then you can appreciate the obvious relish with which this bird enjoys its A la carte selection.
