[Maine-birds] West Poland Sandhill Cranes

Hello All,

Quick post:

A morning tour around western Androscoggin County with most notably 2 Sandhill Cranes vocalizing and feeding in a cemetery on the McGuiere Road on the crest of a large open ridge.  They may have been responding to other distant cranes which I first took to be geese.

A good assortment of ducks and other swimmers and divers in rivers and openings around lakes and marshes.  Nice aggregation of waterfowl on flooded fields just north of Mechanic Falls and just off the road to West Minot.  I believe it is called Burnham Bridge Road.  Tributary of Little Androscoggin parallels the road and goods under bridge.
