I went down to the river this morning for my monthly survey. Not much happening, not even a gull. I had one male mallard and a few crows. However, there were many warblers across the street where there was no safe place to stand and look, and I got a good view of my first Catbird. Later, I stopped for a newspaper, still on the same side of the river, and heard (but did not see) a second Catbird meowing.
