[Maine-birds] Frenchman Bay area, nesting Peregrines

Wed. 5/17/17
Checked the Peregrine Falcon nesting site on the seaward side of Ironbound Island (Frenchman Bay) this afternoon. All quiet until a Raven flew past the nest causing both male and female to physically and vocally defend the nest site. The female came out from under the overhanging raspberry bush on the cliff where the nest has been located for several years now. The male had been sitting on the cliff face just above the nest site.
The Petit Manan island trip this afternoon tallied 25 Puffins (two yesterday).
An single adult nonbreeding plumaged Bonaparte's Gull, two second year and one adult Bald Eagle were at Egg Rock. Herring Gulls are on nests and a few are still building nests on the island. Many Common Eiders both male and female around Egg Rock.
Bald Eagles on nests on Sheep and Long Porcupine Islands.
First Harbor Seal pup on Egg Rock today.
