[Maine-birds] escapee Eurasian Collared-Dove - South Portland, 10/10

I wanted to alert everyone to an apparent escapee Eurasian Collared-Dove that has been in the 'Meeting House Hill' neighborhood of South Portland since ~27 September. The bird shows a bit of cage-wear with an especially battered tail and some scruffy looking feathers around the face. Also, though hard to see, it eventually showed what appears to be a homemade band on its left leg.

Maine still only has one accepted record of Eurasian Collared-Dove from 28 May 2013 and I'm happy to report that, for the time being, it will stay that way.

Good birding,
