Re: [Maine-birds] Re: Dunlin?

Thanks Seth.
I was hung up by not knowing size, and not seeing white wing stripe Dunlin has in flight. In non breeding plumage a Western Sandpiper looks a lot like a Smaller Dunlin to my less trained eye.

P.s. I just took Cornell online Shorebird ID course recently, and found it helpful !

Indeed it's a Dunlin! That long decurved bill is a pretty good mark.

Confirmation or correction, please.
I think this is a dunlin. If so, the first I've seen or photographed or recognized. Photographed at Reid State Park Saturday.
It was hanging out with, possibly thousands of sanderlings and possibly, other peeps at the south end of Half Mile Beach. Thank you.

Cheers,
Dave
