Hi all,
The "Greater Yarmouth Goose Fields" of North Yarmouth, Cumberland, and Falmouth got on the scoreboard this morning with an immature SNOW GOOSE along Woodville Road in Falmouth.
A total of 871 Canada Geese was a season-to-date high count, and significant increase since my last check on 10/3. Three Killdeer along Greely Rd and scattered American Pipits were also noted.
Especially early in the season, and especially when surface water is scarcer than usual, the geese move around a lot and can be tough to find. The "survey loop" including all of the places to check, are described in Site C15 of my "Birdwatching in Maine: A Site Guide."
