[Maine-birds] Sandhill cranes on East Pond

When kayaking the north end of East Pond in Smithfield, 4 seen at ~2pm flying northwest over the marsh/shrub lands. They seemed to all be the same size. Also seen, 2 bald eagles, 2 kingfishers, 4 loons (1 juvenile), cormorants and mallards.

Also a duck hunter shooting from a boat between the Miller Islands and another high speed boater apparently trying to use up his fuel before the end of the season! Still, a lovely, mostly quiet day on a new pond for us.
