Yesterday Glenn Jenks found a grounded Dovekie in the roadway on RTE 73 just north the Keag Store in So Thomaston (street number is #93.) The bird proved elusive to capture and entered a needle-in-a-haystack, weedy thicket at roadside. I checked the spot this early morning, with similar negative results. This bird is a likely victim of the daylong, whipping ocean winds of last Friday.
