[Maine-birds] Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument today

Hi all -- My wife and I got ourselves to KWW NM today and drove the loop road just west of Whetstone Falls on the East Branch of the Penobscot. A lovely day. Colors are past and leaves are mostly fallen, but the views both near and far were lovely.

My highlights:
  • Black-backed Woodpecker (at least 1, maybe 2) at Lynx Pond
  • A flock of migratory American Crows. 52 birds in a loose flock, well overhead and flying south, with a huge and majestic Katahdin in the background.
  • My first Pine Siskins in a long while
Cheers all,

Craig
