And we always enjoy reading your reports as well! We've birded the north country only once so we keep note of where you see good birds.
I like watch for the changes in species as the seasons change.

We're still seeing several Black-bellied Plover and both yellowlegs on the mudflats. And our first Bufflehead arrived this morning (6 birds - 3 male/3 female). Over 120 Black Ducks putz around in the low tide mud. Common Eiders and Red-breasted Mergansers have moved up into our part of the bay. And Canada Geese talk all night long out on the water.
Yellow-rumped Warblers are no longer flitting around our front yard trees and big flocks of Dark-eyed Juncos rise from the roadsides when we drive by. There is a bumper crop of elderberry, mountain ash and chokecherry so lots of American Robins are lingering.
