We're seeing an increased number of Pine Siskins at our feeder and in the woods around us. More Purple Finches are showing up as well. Perhaps this is the beginning of the much anticipated (at least by me!!) northern finch irruption in this locale.
-- That means more dinner options for the Sharp-shinned Hawk who visits the feeders daily.
Three Fox Sparrows under the feeder this morning. That's new....
Red-throated Loons are in Flat Bay during high tide and good numbers of Bonaparte's Gulls are still around working the same waters as the loons, Common Eiders and Bufflehead when a food source is plentiful during high tide.
